Photos: Kidnapped Kaduna teacher released by abductors The primary school teacher kidnapped in Zaria, Kaduna State has been released. Her brother shared the happy news this morning on Facebook. "Alhamdulillah.... Fatima (binta) Umar is free at last. she was released last night by her abductors. we are really grateful for ur prayers, support and concern. Thanks a lot." he wrote. The woman, Fatima Umar, a teacher at LEA Maiduguri Road, Kaduna, was kidnapped on September 19th, at her husband's house when the gunmen could not find money to steal. According to an eyewitness, who spoke to Daily Trust, the incident happened around  2am . When the armed robbers searched the house and couldn't get any money, they attempted to kidnap a baby but Fatima, wife of a lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, held back the child. Man caught on CCTV drowning his stepdaughter in a hotel pool, sentenced to 100 years in prison A man, identified only as Jose David N, was caught throwing his 3-year-old stepdaughter in a hotel swimming pool in Mexico multiple times, causing her to drown. This happened on the 12th of August 2015 while the little girl's mother was sleeping in their hotel room. Shocking surveillance footage which caused outrage in Mexico when released, showed David N throwing the girl into the water at a hotel in the city of Morelia, Michoacan in August 2015. She is seen battling to keep herself afloat, while the murderer stands at the side of the pool doing nothing. The helpless little girl could not swim, and others around did nothing to try and save her. Photo: Lagos High Court sentence man to 5 years imprisonment for N10.5 million fraud The Lagos State High Court presided over by Justice Kudirat Jose on 21 September, 2016 convicted and sentenced one Michael Ugochukwu to five years imprisonment on a one count charge of stealing to the tune of N10,500,000 (Ten Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) property of Patrick Ekeh. The convict was arraigned by the EFCC in early 2014 following investigation of a petition by one Patrick Ekeh who alleged that he imported a total of twenty eight vehicles for the convict from the United States of America sometime in January 2010 through the Lagos port. It was later discovered in April 2010 when the audit of the vehicles inventory was conducted that all the twenty eight vehicles were sold with the exception of one. But when confronted, the convict told the complainant that there were still five vehicles left to be sold whose total cost was N10,500,000. The petitioner did all he could

Minister of Women Affairs, Alhassan denies reports she slumped at IDP camp. "It was stuffy and I had to sit down" Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Jummai Alhassan, has denied media reports that she slumped  on Monday  at the Internal Displaced Persons’ camp in Fufore LGA of Adamawa State during a two-day official visit. The media in Azerbaijan have accused Nigerian striker, Victor Emenayo, who was recently signed by Azerbaijani top division side, Shahdagh Qusar FK, of being 17 times older than the age (23) declared on his passport. The Sun also reports that the club accused him of duping them by lying and holding a fake passport. Emenayo has now slammed all the false age allegations.
