 Oyegun urges PDP to accept the verdict of the Edo people in good faith – 

The APC national chairman congratulates Obaseki and Shuaibu for their victory in Edo election Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to accept the verdict of the Edo people in good faith, The Nation reports. His statement comes after he again lost his unit to the PDP in the Edo election. The returning officer of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that the APC scored 69 votes, while the PDP scored 78 votes in Oyegun’s unit. But in a statement last night in Abuja, Oyegun congratulated the APC candidate, Godwin Obaseki and his running mate, Phillip Shuaibu on their election victory. READ ALSO: Kogi PDP suspends chairman Sam Uhuot Oyegun said: “The people of Edo state voted to ensure continuity and consolidation of the massive multi-faceted developments recorded under the administration of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.” In the last few days, Oyegun has been hit by top politicians including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the APC, as well as former vice president of the country, Atiku Abubakar. Atiku backed Tinubu in his accusations against Oyegun. According to Atiku, Tinubu was right to demand that Oyegun follow party rules. Tinubu had asked Oyegun to resign for derailing the party’s agenda in the Ondo APC primary election.
